Good to know

Common questions

Do I need a permit to carry in Arizona?

No. Adults 21 and older can carry concealed in Arizona without a permit. The permit still matters: it's honored in 37 states, it can stand in for the background check when you buy from a dealer, and it gives you the school-zone and restaurant carry exceptions.

Do I need to bring a gun to the CCW class?

No. The Arizona CCW class is classroom only, with no live fire. We take your fingerprints in class, and the fee covers them.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 21 or older for the Arizona CCW permit, or 19 or older if you're active military or a veteran. For younger shooters, take a look at Youth Firearm Safety.

What happens after the CCW class?

You leave with your certificate and a completed application. Mail it to Arizona DPS with the $60 state fee. DPS usually processes permits in a few weeks, and the permit is good for five years.

Is there a member discount?

Yes. Guns 2 Ammo members save 10% on every course. Compare memberships.
